by Nate “RedNinja” Gleason-

Playability: 8.5 - Widow Octavia is a very interesting figure to play for a lot of reasons. We've got a lot of power here, but it's difficult to fully utilize, and requires some strategic timing to pull off. The figure starts off respectably enough. She's got above-average stats alongside the Pain and Invulnerable abilities, as well as a fairly deep dial. We even get an extra plot twist from the beast . This form can overcome a lot of it's opposition if given the proper support…but once the figure slays it's third victim, it moves onto an even more powerful dial. Octavia's second dial is filled with sky high stats, as well as the Leap/Climb, Invulnerable, and Flesheater abilities. But this strength comes at a cost - her dial becomes 4 clicks deep, which her Invulnerable ability just can't compensate for. So ultimately, Widow Octavia becomes a balancing act between her two forms. You'll want to spend the early game slaying it's first two victims as prep work, then have her fight in the fray for awhile. Once you have the opponent's monsters properly crippled, or if Widow Octavia is about to be killed herself, you'll want her to slay her third victim and go berserk, using her new-found strength to clean the board. If you're looking for a monster that's fun to play but doesn't sacrifice playability in doing so, this is a figure to check out. Sculpt: 9.5/10 - This is one uncomfortable sculpt to look at, and makes me uneasy to just think about. We watch as a giant spider approaches it's prey, planning to devour the poor, helpless guy as he screams in terror. The detail on the bricks and webbing is incredibly realistic, and the spider's main body is glossy enough to see your reflection in. This figure looks amazing in almost every conceivable way. The sculpt's only main flaw is that the actual figure detaches from the dial, making it fall off frequently as you move it across the board. Still, the figure looks amazing enough that this factor is negligible. http://web.archive.org/web/20131001123902/http://www.itswickedfun.net:80/reference/monsters/HrC085.html
