SIDE A
  • Ghost - This monster automatically breaks away and ignores the effects of hindering terrain, monsters, portals, victims, and walls for movement purposes.
  • Dodge - When an attack succeeds against this monster, roll a d6 before damage is dealt. On a result of 5 or 6, this monster evades the attack.
SIDE B

Mark slammed the gate shut and threw the bolt. “Ha ! ” he cried in relief. Even a demon dog couldn’t get over a 12-foot fence. The creature came up to the fence and nosed at it in frustration. Mark laughed again, and the dog’s head snapped up. Its eyes flashed and it faded, somehow, then stepped forward through the fence with a rumbling growl that Mark could almost believe was a laugh of its own.

Instead of a trapper designed to hold down an opposing monster so another monster can kill it, this version can Ghost through walls to pounce on opposing monsters. After 2 Hourglass clicks, it retains Ghost so it can be used as a victim chaser or ambusher. During those Hourglass clicks, you can move it out in the open since its safe from ranged attacks and can auto breakaway from adjacent opposing monsters. You could also safely Blood it with a handy victim since any damaging Twists used on it will only hasten its viscous 3rd click.

Once it gets past the Hourglass clicks, it has a move of 6 allowing it to chase down a victim. Or several. Then Ghost it through walls, obstacles, opposing monsters... and leave it lurking in a safe place. If anything interesting wanders by, pounce on it. With an attack of 10 it should be able to hit almost anything with a decent dice roll and will have a 1 in 3 chance of Dodging anything that gets past its 16 defense.

For even more fun, you can use it as a Frothweiler pack leader. A Rookie or Experienced version runs ahead, traps an opposing monster then the Veteran can Frenzy in and deliver 3pts of damage next turn. http://web.archive.org/web/20131003175527/http://www.itswickedfun.net/reference/monsters/Lab021.html
