Sculpt: 8.5 Blood Demon has one of the more interesting sculpts. He stands howling on a small island of fire and is holding a staff of sorts. I love everything about the sculpt except the fact that his upper torso is painted in a very glossy red. He would've looked much better had they used a more "flat" red.

Dial/Stats: 7 Blood Demon's highlight attribute would be his 11 attack and breathe fire ability. Doing a 4 from range is deadly. He also boasts stamina so that most weak little nuisances can't hurt him. Leap/Climb allows him to dash away so that he can get in a shooting position easily and start inflicting much damage on your opponents pieces. His rather average defense could cause problems for him and if he loses his Stamina, he could be in trouble, though later down his dial he gains it back.

Gameplay: 6 This guy doesn't see much play right now due to Horrorclix being a mostly close combat game. If tied up he can escape in most cases, and this assists him greatly. Poison and 1 damage aren't a problem, but fighting in close combat with a tough monster can be, so leap away quickly and stay out of close combat. Shoot away with 4 damage at your opponents good monsters in order to soften them up for your other pieces to charge in and finish the job.

Overall: 7 While not boasting good stats at close combat, Blood Demon is a ranged beast. 4 damage and an 11 attack make him a nuisance to deal with, not to mention the ever useful Leap/Climb. When more ranged pieces come into the game I'm confident BD will see more play, but right now close combat rules this game and he just won't see as much play as The Fiend and Dire Werewolf and many other close combat "experts". http://web.archive.org/web/20131001122224/http://www.itswickedfun.net:80/reference/monsters/HrC092.html
